Just because Nasrallah said Israel lost the war dose not make it true. If Israel lost then who won? Nasrallah is living underground for fear of his life. If Hezbolah won why are they not fighting Israel in the north to help there brothers in the south? I'll tell you why, they are afraid of Israel - as they should be. And if they are afraid then Israel has done what it set out to do - deter the terrorists from committing future atrocities to Israeli citizens. Now its time for Hamas to learn what Nassrallah knows all to well. Its just a shame that hamas has little regard for its own population and is willing to sacrifice it peace loving people for their medieval ideology, this is the 21st century not the 10th. The world will not stand for Jihad and other nonsense, live in peace and provide for your families instead of threatening to cut off peoples heads because they don't believe in Allah. And for gods sake, recognize Israel's right to exist and denounce violence as your means for achieving your goals - they will do it one day, its just a shame that so many have to die for there stubbornness (Jews and Arabs alike).By the way, you seem to have forgotten all of the suicide bombings in Israel during the 80's,90's and earlier this decade - its not that they are not trying but because of walls and blockades they cant.

"live in peace and provide for your families"

Jack - This is exactly the problem. Palestinian cannot live in peace when we are being forced out of our homes, our land being taken away, and locked in the Gaza strip without food or water.

Israel's colonial project in Palestine is a racist and discriminatory policy that is forcing people to resort to the only thing they have left to give: their life.

Second, if you even have to ask the question :If Israel lost, then who won?" then I think you already know the answer.

It won't take long for a racist, imperialist nation to forgo its superpower, especially as their main support's power recedes. Why does the Israeli government have to have a large PR machine working constantly? It's not because of anti-semitism.

I wonder... Ramsey can you please tell us from where have you, or your palestinian friends, where forced out? just so we will know if all you claim as yours is ashkelon, ashdod or tel-aviv? or maybe new-york as well?

Unlike most zionists, my family has a long history in Palestine, Mark.

And, yes I do have evidence going back quite awhile of my family's land in Palestine. Last time I visited, it was up for sale (to jews only) for condominiums. Unlike the Zionist, colonial project, who's founders were white Europeans and had no history in Palestine.

And yes, my family was forcibly, ethnically cleansed by Zionist gangs.

What about all the arab land?
    http://www.levitt.com/misc/israel_history.html

what about the 1 million Jewish refugees from arab lands?

The Jewish exodus from Arab lands refers to the 20th century expulsion or mass departure of Jews, primarily of Sephardi and Mizrahi background, from Arab and Islamic countries. The migration started in the late 19th century, but accelerated after the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. According to official Arab statistics, 856,000 Jews left their homes in Arab countries from 1948 until the early 1970s. Some 600,000 resettled in Israel. Their descendants, and those of Iranian and Turkish Jews, now number 3.06 million of Israel's 5.4 to 5.8 million Jewish citizens. [1][not in citation given] The World Organization of Jews from Arab Countries (WOJAC) estimates that Jewish property in Arab countries would be valued today at more than $300 billion and Jewish-owned real-estate left behind in Arab lands at 100,000 square kilometers (four times the size of the State of Israel). Ramsy, so the war, as far as you see it, is not about some stupid humanitarian conditions in gaza or about opening the border crossings or about the settelments in the west bank.... you simply would like the jews to go back to were the came from. That is a very good starting position for a long and lasting peace.

But it is interesting that you state that your family origins are from Lod. May I ask what kind of cleansing was performed in Lod which left a situation where at least 10% of the population of the city is arab? (I lived in Lod most of my childhood so this number is from actual experience)
Maybe it is time you go to your family elders and ask them why they left the city while so many others remained? Maybe it is time that your family will take part of the blame on its current situation on mistakes they have made in the past instead of blaming every one else?

And this really comes back to gaza. Why are there so many refugees in gaza? isn't it because the egyptians in 48 said to the palestinians that they just need to move out of the way of their glorious army so they will not be heart while they concur palestian, and they believed it and left their homes and traveled to gaza. And then when the egyptians had failed, they created the great prison of gaza and didn't let the palestians any chance of integration into egypt.
Not that this is something that other arab states havn't done. If I'm not mistaken till this day the palestinians in lebanon are at best second class citizens.

Maybe it is time that the palestinians will wake up and smell the fresh coffee. 60 years of an "all or nothing" attitude brought them to nowere. the big autonomy in the west bank was reduced to a mainly symbolic autonomy after the second intifada in 2002, and the semi-state in gaza which exists from 2005 is now on its way to become just a big area of destroyed buildings, with no one in the world except for the iranians want to have anything to do with it.

Anyway I appreciate your candid answer to my question. it is much better than the "we want peace but you dont" rhetoric.

Those who were betting on the loss of the resistance like Al-Hariri, Junblat, and all the 14th of March team hid themselves through the Israeli strikes , and the only face we have seen during the 33 days of war was the Hassan Nasralla’s face injecting life in people and encouraging the resistance.

what a load of BS!!!! with all due respect farah, you have it completely backwards. nasrallah was hiding underground throughout the whole war... we "saw his face" only on simulcasts from his undisclosed locations.

meanwhile, it was the march 14 prime minister fouad siniora who was inspiring the lebanese people to survive and giving us courage through the attacks, in actual 3-dimensional addresses...

    Mark -

If you notice, I do say MOST Zionists. I will never discount or disregard Jews that had been living alongside Christian and Muslim Palestinians in Palestine. But when you have an influx of a new group of people, with a Colonial Racist Project in mind, of course there will a reaction to the project.

Lydd is very sad these days. The Palestinians that remained have been denied building permits and economic opportunity in Lydd, so the place turned into a ghetto. That and the Russian mafia's that showed up added a violent, drug-filled culture to a once beautiful and peaceful place.

According to my family, they had little choice but to leave - it is well-documented the tactics of the Zionists to intimidate, force, and kill those who stayed and force them into leaving. Most of the men stayed back to fight and met up with the family later in Ramallah.

One day however, I'll re-build my house in Lydd and raise my family in peace and justice with my neighbors.

I totally agree with the fact that Hamas is not to be blamed for what is going on in Gaza. Israel is not only targeting Hamas officials it is targeting innocent women and children. The massacre going on in Gaza is more of a genocide, and we still hear George Bush saying that Israel has every right to defend itself, what about the innocent children who are killed everyday, don't they have the right to live?
  • Jack Mazafi for Nasrall · 10 months ago
This is exactly what I'm talking about people, don't you see? It's people like Nasrall who are the problem. All he has is hatred and vengeance. Enough, put down the rocks and rockets and recognize Israel - make peace, not war brother. Nothing is better for Israel than peace - economically, socially and otherwise. If people like Nasrall want to follow Jews to America to kill them, how do we protect ourselves surrounded on all sides by hostile neighbors?
  • ramsey · 10 months ago
Actually, Jack, Israeli benefits immensely from being enemies with just about everyone except the American Empire.

    http://www.trendlines.com/reports/security.pdf

After taking American money to develop new ways to kill people, the Israelis even sell security technology back to the Americans (and other countries) for profit.

So economically, no Israel would not benefit from peace. Something about a military industrial complex. Maybe Eisenhower should have been Israeli? Not that his comment made any difference in the US...
